Welcome from the School Director
Dear Parents,
We are all going through very critical times such as we have not experienced before. We would like to assure you that the Management of the BES is meeting on a daily basis to work on contingency measures to secure the academic programme of our students. We are working closely with the Ministry of Education and also following the safety guidelines of the World health Organisation.
We want to guarantee you, as we did during the crisis of 2011 and 2015, that your child's/children's academic programmes for 2019-2020 will be completed successfully. The Edexcel external examinations will go ahead at the published times, unless we are instructed otherwise from EDEXCEL.
We will keep you informed of any future developments.

Sincerely
School Director

Dear Students and Parents,

We would like to inform you that we have changed the platform for your online lessons to ZOOM as we found our original choice unsatisfactory. We apologise that you are going to have to go through the process of downloading the new platform on to your computers but, we believe you will be happier with this new system so it will be worth it! To begin the download you will need to go to the school website where you will find a video instructing you how to proceed. If you should encounter any problems, you should refer to the post of March 31st on the school website, informing you who you should contact for help.

You have been given your personal timetables so you are aware of the times you need to log in to any given lesson which will start on Saturday April 11th.

Students of Years 7 and 8 should take this opportunity to improve their CA marks by completing and submitting all the work set online by teachers while students of Years 9 to 13 who are doing external examinations should be aware of the following:

-
External examination papers for all examination boards have been cancelled everywhere in the world because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
-
Centres are being asked to submit grades, based on the work students have produced over the complete duration of the courses, including mock examination results.
-
Examination boards will ask for objective evidence to support the predicted grades centres submit. This means, for example, our centre will be asked to send your CA marks for the duration of the complete course and photocopies of your mock examinations.
-
Your estimated Grade will be arrived at by averaging all your CA marks and mock examination results.
-
You still have a good two months in which to work to the very best of your ability to raise your CA mark to the highest you are capable of achieving.
-
You should not be under any false illusions that it is going to be easy for you to score a high grade because it is your teacher predicting
your grade – it is not! In fact, in many ways it is going to be more difficult as all your work over the courses is going to be under very close scrutiny.
-
YOU HAVE TIME TO IMPROVE THINGS IF YOU WORK HARD OVER THE NEXT
-
Online lessons will resume on Saturday April 11th and will continue until the first day of the Eid El-Fitr Festival.
-
Exams will begin on the 3rd day of the Eid El-Fitr celebrations and will continue until June 18th.
-
Internal examinations will be published on Sunday June 28th.
It is vitally important that you follow your lessons daily, so that you complete this academic year successfully and you are therefore able to move up to the next year without any problems. Homework is posted on the school website every week. It is your responsibility and duty to download the work and follow the directions to send the completed tasks to your teachers to mark. If you do not complete the tasks set for any given subject, you will be seriously jeopardising your chances of finishing this academic year with a good grade.
We want to wish you all the very best of luck! Remember the school motto:
Effort Leads to Success!
