Thank you for your interest in the Benghazi European School. I hope that you will find the information you need as you browse through the following pages. As you will discover, the BES is a well-established institution with an enviable reputation for quality education. High on our list of priorities is the commitment to provide our young people with a caring learning environment which focuses on developing self-confidence and independence.
The eruption of the COVID-19 pandemic necessitated a radical change of approach to teaching in schools and universities worldwide and the BES is no exception. Consequently we have had to resort to delivering all classes online in order to secure the health and safety of our students and their families.... See more
Welcome from the School Director
It gives me pleasure to welcome you back to the final term of this academic year. This is a very demanding term for your sons/daughters: many will be completing their school careers and looking forward to moving on to university life. It is essential that we encourage all our children to work hard over the next weeks, in order to do as well as they possibly can in their exams, whether final external exams or end of academic year school exams. We are relying on your invaluable support.
Please make sure you take some time to check the school website once a week as important notices will be posted there for your information, during this critical period.
The internal end of year exams for Years 7, 8 and 9 will begin on Wednesday 8th of June and for Year 10 on Wednesday 1st of June. Tuesday June 7th will be an official study leave day for all students of Years 7, 8, 9 and 10. Students should take good advantage of this day to do quality revision in preparation for final exams.
Once again, I would like to ask you to help us by ensuring your sons/daughters gets to school at least 20 minutes before exam sessions. It is also important to remind them, before they leave home, to check that they have the correct equipment for the exam they have on that day.
Thank you for your continued help and support.
With my best wishes

Dear Students, Parents and Members of Staff,
We are now approaching the completion of this academic year and the external Pearson Edexcel examinations are well under way. Students and teachers have been working hard throughout the spring term, in order to secure the best possible results.
We are very pleased to say that we have been able to offer a higher level of French and Art this year, as we continue to strive for academic excellence. Our school Director is working closely with staff to prepare for the next academic year.
Last, but not least, I would like to inform you that we are lucky enough to have been able to arrange a visit from our International Educational Advisor, Mr Yiorgos Panayiotopoulos. Mr Panayiotopoulos will arrive in the next couple of weeks and he will be specifically devoting his time to our senior students. Over his stay he will hold seminars with the students to discuss career options they need to be considering in order to face the challenges of modern life.
Together we will remain safe and healthy.
